Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had in a dental office! I’m fairly new to Newport News and was looking for a new dentist. I did a Google search found the practice online, it was close by and had excellent reviews. The best part, I didn’t have to wait weeks for an appointment. I was a little nervous walking into the office because let’s face it, no one “likes” going to the dentist. However, the staff was friendly and professional which helped to ease my anxiety. Dr. Stockburger went over my exam thoroughly and even showed me images of my teeth as if I were looking into my own mouth, truly amazing. I couldn’t be more pleased with the care I received at Oyster Point Smiles!

Dr Stockburger and his staff are amazing. As a military spouse, I’ve had dentists from all over the country and he is hands down the best one I’ve ever seen. I started going to him for cosmetic denistry and even switched over my routine care. He is an out of network provider for the military dental insurance, but it’s been worth the out of pocket cost to have a dentist you can trust.

This was my first time being here as an emergency patient. I called them before closing the day prior, and they got me in the next morning! Everyone was so polite and positive. I didn’t feel ashamed or insecure about my issues even though I got a piercing knowing that it would most likely result in a chipped tooth lol. The dentist and dental assistants did not make me feel bad about it at all. They were very informative, concerned and urgent with the care and the out of pocket price was way less than i expected it to be. The receptionists were very sweet as well! I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of rude receptionists but even after calling to make changes to my appointment, they did not get frustrated. My tooth looks soooo good and it fits right in, doesnt evevn look like i chipped it or got it fixed lol. I will for sure be coming back as a regular patient once I get dental insurance.

I was impressed and it’s difficult to impress me with dentistry. The doctor admitted to being a minimalist with crown preps and explained why. I can appreciate that knowing that over preparing the tooth for a crown can and very often does, unnecessarilally kill the tooth setting it up for a root canal doubling the cost and circumventing the need for an implant. Which, often, could have been done in the first place, saving the patient some funds, better used elsewhere. I was in clinic for almost an hour and my cleaning was rescheduled because my hygienist admitted to needing more time, but the cost will be rolled into one bill as evidenced from them not asking me for payment. Great office for seniors! It’s nice to find good dental assistants when needed. Very impressed and surprised that this level of care and professionalism is still available. Absolutely love the energy and staff at Oyster Point Smiles. Dr Stockburger and his team are excellent, great communicators and explain all steps for each procedure. The ability to get in quickly a couple different times was great. Would highly recommend if needing a local dentist that doesn’t treat you like a number!
